Vegan MoFo 2009 Day 2: Say Cheezly!

And it's true!
See!
Now you wouldn't want to eat this stuff every day (unlike Pizza) but I have to say it is rather splendid on afore mentioned Pizza and it does what it says on the tin/packet - It melts superly! Will have to try it out in a toasted sandwich next.
GO VEGAN! GO MoFo!!

Ah yes, my vegan cheese of choice. Super-duper on a baked tattie with pesto too!

I am jealous! I have yet to find a vegan cheese around here that actually melts. Nice looking pizza!

Holy Mother of all that's good and pure! So melty and gooey!

Happy MoFoing! I'm too lazy and rusty to participate this year :-(

They've started selling Cheezly here in these tube type arrangements... like a big fat sausage of cheese. But it seems like they have also changed the formula a bit and it isn't quite as melty. Woe.

I used to work at a vegan place in NH and we used cheezly for several things. Its melting properties are fantastic :) In lasagna it was the perfect mild tasted with the gooey consistency we needed. Happy MoFo!

Whoa! That is some major meltiness! I didn't even know they make a mozzarella...

That pizza is making me hungry!

I've been meaning to make a pizza too - need to use up the rest of my Teese! That looks undescribably great... I want a slice right now.

Oh I love a good pizza! The only vegan cheese I've ever been able to find is tofutti and it could never melt like that! (Not that I don't love my tofutti, but still!)

ah ha ha - super melty would have gotten my attention too, Jeni! glad it held up to what it advertised. i've never had cheezly before - but i'm gonna keep an eye out for some & give it a try. pizza awesomeness = mmmmmmmmmmmm!

ooo... there have been several new cheeze advances that have given us vegans that meltiness that we crave. how exciting!

it does make a pretty good cheeze & tomato toasty if you have a toasty maker!!

That looks delicious! I've been wanting to try Cheezly ever since I first saw someone blog about it. I can't wait until I can.

Yummy pizza! I tried Cheezly recently and really liked it. I'm going on a Daiya cheese crawl in NYC tonight. Bring on the vegan cheese!

I've never tried this brand yet. But yeah, it did melt crazily. Beautiful pizza! I'm super envious.

I tried this once and wasn't crazy about it. Now I think I need to give it another go after seeing yours.

that pizza looks great! i'll have to get some cheezly for my MoFo!

i have yet to melt cheezly on pizza. i've only tried it on crackers and sandwhiches and i've decided vegan cheese cold and hard is not the way to live. how do you like it compared to teese?

Jen Treehugger said...

Kimmy - I've never tried Teese - never seen it in the shops in the UK. If I do I will grab some and try, for the sake of comparison. Vegan cheese is pretty nasty to eat on it's own, Sheese Smoked Cheddar is the only one I can enjoy on a cracker. But one thing they all have in common is that they all taste good on a Pizza. It is the magic of Pizza (my all time favourite food).

Cheezly is great on a toasted sandwich! and also in lasagne, on enchiladas and other places where ya want that melty goodness.

I've never tried this stuff... it does look mighty tasty, though! What I've really had my eye on trying is that new Daiya stuff... yum!

You and me both KT. I reckon I've got a looong wait ahead of me for that one.

I've never tried Cheezly; in fact, I've pretty much given up on cheese substitutes (although that Teese at the coop is tempting me). But that pizza looks pretty darn good! I recently made calzones with a tofu-pesto filling that could have been a pizza topping! Thanks for the encouragement.... can we get Cheezly here? Hmmmm.... I'll check it out. And thanks to Mr Treehugger for the daal recipe. Definitely one of my favorite meals, and I'm game to try a new recipe!
