I took the pledge!! How adorable are they??

We went a country auction and my daughter fell in love with a calf. She seriously wanted to bring it home!!! If they only stayed that little. :(

I think I took a pro-every animal pledge when I became vegan! :)

I took the pledge - pig farming and chicken farming are two of the most exploitative forms of animal farming so it was a no-brainer! I always love that James Cromwell went vegan after working on Babe! Brilliant!

I went to a fair a few weeks ago with my family. I found it so interesting that people visited the farm area and ooo'd and awww'd over the baby animals and then went 15 feet away and ordered a hunk of meat for dinner. The disconnect was so visible.

I get really sad when I think about how these pigs suffer. Thanks for posting this!

Have you read the Good, Good Pig? It's a great book about a vegetarian woman who adopts a sickly runt of the litter pig..really adorable book!

I'm so glad that you came by and commented because I really like your blog, especially the vegan recipes. I'm always on the lookout for something new to me, yet tried and true.

Gotta add you to my feeds. :)

Thanks for sharing the link. I hate to see any animal suffer. It does make me very happy to have a veggie family.

You guys ROCK!!
It never ceases to amaze me how some people just fail to make the connection between pigs they see in farms and fairs to what they eat. And yeah - Mr Cromwell is way kewl!

I love that Paul McCartney quote. It's so true. I wish that everybody would stop and think about it.
