I had my bag stolen from my local bar last night!
Along with my phone, debit card and 1 euro in change my beloved camera was also nicked.
I am so gutted.

The person was caught on CCTV and the Guardia Civil will be taking a look at the footage later but I'm not holding out any hopes of getting my camera back.
If you all could cross your fingers and wish really really hard for me and my camera to be reunited though, I'd be very grateful.
The thief grabbed my bag in seconds and she's obviously a professional as there was a table full of people and no-one saw her commit the act. She scarpered off to the toilets, took out what was of any value to her and chucked the rest in the cistern of the toilet and replaced the lid.
However, we didn't find it until today so last night we had to call a lock smith out to the house to bust the door open and fix a new lock.
At least our car keys were retrieved which was really the most important thing as there was also a letter in my bag with our address on so she could have easily nicked the car too!
I'm so angry with myself because normally I am so vigilante and I NEVER leave my belongings unattended. I let my guard down for 2 mins and that was all it took.
Also in my bag was my newly purchased copy of Cruelty Free Shopper which is now just one big soggy mess (a bit like me really!!).
I know these things can be replaced but I'm still sad and angry about it all.

I'm sending positive thoughts your way. Something similar happened to me when I visited Rome. Needless to say, even Vatican City can't be trusted. I confronted the hotel manager and he refused to believe that someone stole my wallet. Eventually it all was worked out, but hang in there. I know it can be frustrating.

I dropped my camera a few weeks ago and broke it so I can sympathize. Not being able to take pictures of food is no fun! Boo. :-(

oh, jeni. that totally and completely sucks. i have been robbed before and i know how violating it can feel...it's not about the stuff, it's about the trespass on your privacy and the lack of respect.

Oh Jeni, that is so horrible! I'm really sorry sweetie. I had my camera stolen by a "friend" from my own apartment once, and it took me a long time to get over it, not so much the camera (though it was horrible - I still hadn't finished paying it off!), but the theft itself.
I'm crossing all fingers & toes hoping you'll be reunited!

Oh no! That's horrible! I would have hated it if something like this had happened to me as I am also ever so attentive and keep my stuffs with me all the time.
But stay positive on this! Everything happens for a reason! I mean I always turn such a situation on the positive side and think, well maybe if I had not lost my bag, I would've done such and such things etc and could have been hit by a car or mugged by taking my usual way home etc...

Lovliebutterfly - you think just like me! I have already worked out in my head that this happened to avoid something worse from happening. I am a firm believer in the universe gently guiding me in the direction I need to go.
This happened for a reason and maybe that reason will never be known but it will all be for the greater good in the end.

where i live... you can get held up at gun point / ice pick point / knife point just for your bag (or even just for your cellphone!). it's quite sad that these things happen.
